There is no way around it. In order to get a job, you need to summarize all of your life’s experiences into a perfectly formatted one-page document that will set you apart from the competition. Aren’t you more than just a name and some well thought out text? Shouldn’t you be given the opportunity to be judged on your character and personality? Absolutely, but not before your resume gets processed through filtering software that could bypass your application due to poor formatting or give you a low matching score because you didn’t use the proper key words. Additionally, you must write a passionate, persuasive, and compelling cover letter that is so moving that the Hiring Manager is left without a shadow of doubt that your life’s calling is to work at their establishment within the role to which you are applying. I have revised my personal resume over one hundred times and I have helped many people to create, review, and edit their resumes and cover letters, leading to invitations for formal interviews. I will teach you how to craft a respectable professional resume and a captivating cover letter, but most importantly how to cater both of these documents to the job description.

How do you find the most suitable job for you in an ideal location with the salary that you need to achieve a comfortable lifestyle? By navigating through the vast expanse of the Internet. There are countless resources one can use to find a job online, but there are effective means of conducting research for jobs on the World Wide Web and there is time lost in virtual no mans land. I will help you eliminate time wasted, I will have employers reaching out to you directly, and I will teach you how to gain access to hiring managers who are the decision makers for your dream job.

Once you’ve conducted your research, revised your resume and cover letter, and submitted your application for employment, you wait. If all goes well, you’ll often hear back from the company recruiter to schedule an initial phone screening. If you pass the initial phone screen, you will be asked to schedule either a phone interview or an in-person interview with the decision maker(s). If you have a successful interview, they will get back to you in a reasonable time frame and either ask you to come in so other individuals have the opportunity to get to know you, or you will be given an offer of employment.

Sound easy enough? Easier said then done. It is hard enough to sell yourself to an employer on a piece of paper, but the real test comes when you are asked to show up in person and sit in the hot seat. I will work with you to build your confidence during interviews, provide tips and tricks around what recruiters look for during interviews, teach you how to capture a recruiter's attention over the phone, and coach you on best practices of successful interviewees through professional mock interviews.

Making the decision to continue your education and focus on a major that both interests you and provides future value to you is empowering. College is an important rung on your ladder, but it is important to make sure that your ladder is leaning against the right building. That is to say… make sure that you are climbing and working toward the right goal for you. It happens so often that students make a hasty or uninformed decision regarding their choice of major that an estimated 75% of undergraduate students elect to change their majors at least once in college. When making decisions independently or based on the opinions of those with whom they have a personal relationship, such as family members, students will most likely make an ineffective decision that is not aligned with their true personal goals, interests, and values.

Acting as your mentor, I will listen to you and guide you in a direction based on your interests. Personality tests and career assessments are a great way for students to practice self-reflection and gain a deeper understanding of the career options available to them based on their motivators. I will use leading practice tools such as the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator to measure how you perceive life and make decisions, and the Holland Occupational Themes to assess vocational choices based on your personality.

We can research the best schooling options for you based on your budget, desired vocation, and the acceptance requirements of the university. I will provide peer review for college applications and once accepted, provide continued support to teach you how to take advantage of the academic resources provided by your university.

I am a graduate of the Smeal College of Business at Penn State University. Holding a dual major (B.S. of Accounting and B.S. in International Studies) and dual minor (International Business and French), I began my career in management consulting in Washington D.C. After working in professional services for four years and helping my clients effectively improve their business decisions, I realized that my happiness stemmed from bringing value directly to the lives of others. My fondest memories at work included coaching and mentoring my peers, attending campus recruiting trips, giving in-class presentations and conducting interviews. In my free time I found myself assisting friends, colleagues, and students edit their resumes, write cover letters, and manage their finances. I heard the excitement in their voices when they'd tell me about their upcoming interview, their new job offer, or how they finally had enough money saved to take that dream vacation. I wanted to make this my career and I will stop at nothing to help my clients achieve their goals.
